Church of the Resurrection of the Lord
Are you a Catholic who has "been away" from your Church? We encourage you to watch the following video and contact us if we can answer any questions or provide any assistance.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by which adults become members of the Roman Catholic Church. It is a process of prayer, discussion, study, and celebration for:
unbaptized adults who wish to learn more about the Catholic faith with a possibility of becoming Catholic
baptized Christians from other denominations who would like to learn more about and possibly join the Catholic Church
baptized Catholics who have not received their First Communion or been confirmed or who would like further Catholic experience and training
RCIA is the Church's way of helping people become members of the Roman Catholic Church. It is concerned with aiding each individual in developing a deeper understanding and basis for discipleship with Christ through the community of the Church. It is a gradual process which culminates in the Sacraments of Initiation, Baptism (for those not already baptized), First Communion at Easter, and Confirmation at Pentecost.
RCIA Adapted for Children: For children 7 years and older who have not been baptized.
Emmaus also offers RCIA Adapted for Children. This form of the Rite of Christian Initiation is intended for:
children not baptized as infants who have attained the use of reason and are of catechetical age
children over the age of seven (7) who have not been baptized
The children must attend weekly Faith Formation classes with other children in their grade level AND ALSO attend RCIA Adapted with their parents. For details, please contact the Sacrament Coordinator at office@emmausparish.org
Children who complete the course will receive all the sacraments of initiation, ie., baptism, 1st Communion and Confirmation.
