Emmaus Catholic Parish is privileged to support you as you help your child grow in love and understanding of God and the richness of our Catholic faith. Thus, the options we offer for your child’s Faith Formation seek to supplement the essential work you are already doing.
The four pillars of the church: Creed, Liturgy / Sacraments, Christian Morality and Prayer are included in every weekly lesson.
Whether you opt for weekly instruction or the summer intensive program (Summer Faith Defenders), your child still needs the nourishment of:
Sunday Mass
celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation
participation in parish activities
regular involvement in service opportunities
consistent prayer in the home
Outcry (Grades 9-12, High School)
Summer Faith Defenders for First Through Eight Grade
As Vatican II expressed the wisdom of the ages:
“Since parents have given children life, they are bound by the most serious obligation to educate their offspring and therefore must be recognized as the primary and principal educators. This role is so important that only with difficulty can it be supplied when it is lacking…
It is particularly in the Christian family, enriched by the grace and office of the sacrament of matrimony, that children should be taught from their early years to have a knowledge of God according to the faith received in Baptism, to worship Him and love their neighbor.”
Faith Formation leadership and staff use Flocknote and our parish website to keep everyone informed. It is imperative that you be on our Flocknote email list for the programs that involve your children. You have the option to receive emails and/or text messages.
