The City is an online tool that helps you connect with others and to the mission of Emmaus Catholic Parish. It’s designed around the many groups that make up our church: Ministry Teams, Faith Formation, Fellowship Groups, and more. Most importantly, The City is not "another" place for you to sign up. It is "the" place that our parish family communicates, replacing mass emails and allowing for connections and community throughout the week.

The City is a tool, like your phone. It is a means to communicate quickly and effectively with individuals and groups. The City provides an easy, secure, and simple way to communicate various types of information on church-wide level, within a multitude of smaller groups, and between individuals. While past communication vehicles were designed to be one-to-many, The City allows for communication to flow multi-directionally, allowing parishioners to interact. And interaction builds engagement, making you feel more a part of what's happening in your church.
No. Popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter are geared towards individuals and their needs, and are open to the general public. The City is geared toward groups and the needs of our church. Also, whereas most social networks replace community, The City works to foster and supplement community by connecting members with the parish leadership and each other.
Our priests and staff will communicate with the parish in sharing news, ministry opportunities, prayer requests, and event information on The City. Ministry leaders will also be using The City to communicate with their group members about events, schedules, news, prayers, needs, and opportunities to serve. Information will be posted on The City and then distributed by email; you can log in to view info or you can choose to simply read news - and interact - by email. It's up to you and fully customizable to your desired level of communication.

The City is in full compliance with COPPA principles, and we are committed to the safe protection of your children online. Currently, we do not allow children under 13 to create or maintain an account on The City. For children between the ages of 13 and 18, additional safeguards help parents maintain the safety of their children.
For more information or instructions, download our flyer on the right column under City Links. It includes a listing of most of the groups at Emmaus that you can join in The City, whether you currently participate or if you just want to know more about the group.
